tissue issues
my mom is a visionary. since as far back as I can remember, she’s been saving her tissues. she’ll tuck one inside her pocket and continue to use it - sometimes for ungodly stretches of time.
i know what you’re thinking because I thought the same thing, until I saw a couple of japanese girls in one of my classes saving their tissues too! much respect to my moms, but it’s just natural for the younger generation to write off the things that their parents do as weird, freak-like behavior. what I should have realized is that my mom is actually the wave of the future. not one to be left in the dust, I gave tisservation a try. verdict: totally doable and you’d be surprised how you can apply the same idea to so many daily items that we totally take for granted (plastic spoons, paper cups, those coffee cup lid thingies).
the real test of willpower here is the common cold, which i was lucky enough to fall victim to last week. at first, i tried blowing my nose using only the upper right quadrant of my tissue. don’t do it – unless you and everyone around you are clad in ponchos. then, i attempted a “blow and fold” technique which only resulted in more disgusted glances from fellow 7 train riders. needless to say, what started as a robust and sturdy bounty-like lumberjack man of a tissue was reduced to nothing more than a few whimpering, cowering puddly tatters at the end of a 45 minute ride. next time, I’m getting these: http://www.seventhgeneration.com/Recycled-Tissues
so that I can have a guilt-free blow-a-thon (get your mind out of the recycle bin! I’m talking about tissues here.)

egg carton meatball spacer
it’s pretty self-explanatory:
i like to pack 10 meatballs and use the two extra spots for colorful toothpicks and a plastic tomato (you can find them at most banzai stores) filled with sweet and spicy tonkatsu sauce.

tory burch ballet slippers
the first free item up for grabs is a lovely pair of tory burch audrey ballet slippers:
they’re size 8, clear and silver, very gently worn and the retail price is 225 usd (worthless as it may be right now, that’s still a lot of green).
details here. email me if you want them!

hello world!
i am an urban piggy.
there are 17 pairs of shoes under my desk right now. some of which i’ve never even worn - i consider them to be art pieces. and you don’t want to know how many pairs i have in total. (whispering): 33.
last year, i spent over $9,000 just eating things. you know how those tapas add up.
and i am wasteful. but i don’t want to be! a couple of months ago, i bought a coffee mug so that i would stop using 3 paper cups a day, but the mug is still sitting in my drawer and the paper cups have been piling up in a landfill somewhere - not to mention the mug that i would really, really like to throw out soon.
but enough is enough! that’s why i created swyyne. it’s all about how you can be a good bourgeois piggy while still getting your consume on.
care to join me?
