: (
there was a veritable bevy of clutches, satchels and totes at bagtrends.com’s green arm candy party last night (pics to come), and my lady friends and i were particularly enamored with these yummy vegan clutches by NOAH (no animals harmed).

now i love animals as much as the next girl (just ask my pet squirrel Pee-chan, god rest his soul), but recently finding out that “vegan leather” most often means “plastic” was a bit offputting. i was surprised and happy when we asked the sales rep at the table about the plastic overlays on NOAH bags and he replied “well, it is recycled.”
that was all i needed to hear! both lillian and i had been on non-shopping binges, but these cruelty-free, recycled gems were too cute and guilt free to pass up (plus they were only $50)!
or so we thought…

recycle your saran wrap a la ralph rucci at fashion week
ralph rucci, who has been called “america’s great coutourier” is known for keeping things fresh and interesting.
in 2007, models in the show for mr. rucci’s line chado ralph rucci donned heads fully wrapped in saran. the look was futuristic and fun then, but not necessarily something that i would rock on the street.

this year, i was tickled clear to see that mr. rucci decided to opt for plastic wrap dos once again, but in a much more practical and sleek way - as a headband!

from the looks of the saran boxes backstage, i don’t think these coifs were created with recycled sheets of wrap, but i’m totally going to try it next time i’m done preserving my bowls of soup.
ready to eliminate saran wrap altogether? use shower caps.
